I thank my colleague Dr. Wendy Woodall for taking the lead in the development of Chapter 17, clinical application of dental anatomy, physiology, and occlusion. This chapter is new to this edition and represents our attempt to help the stu- dent understand the importance of developing a strong foun- dation in this topic.
