The month of Ramadan is a month full of blessings and we as Muslims need to be grateful for those who are still feeling the month of Ramadan. It is proper for Muslims to take advantage of Ramadan to maximize their deeds of worship. Good piety worshiping Allah and piety muamalat to fellow human beings, especially fellow Muslims. There are several practices in the month of Ramadan that we need to improve in order to strengthen our faith as servants of Allah.
1. Increase Reading Al-Quran
Reading the Quran is our means to strengthen our faith. Like the words in the first verse of Surah Al-'Alaq, namely Iqro. Allah's commandment has emphasized that we as His servants must read often, especially reading the Koran. In addition to reading the Quran, followed by doing recitations or studying the Quran. We need to understand the meaning and message contained in the letters and verses that we read. The virtue of doing recitations, among others, is that Allah gives mercy so that the prayers that are said are immediately answered and when I istighfar will be forgiven.
2. Increase Sunnah Prayers
There are many practices of sunnah prayer that we can maximize such as dhuha prayer, tahajjud prayer, prayer between the adzan and iqamah, caretaker prayer, tahiyatul mosque, tarawih and witr. So, are the tarawih prayers and tahajjud prayers the same or different during the month of Ramadan? In contrast, the special tarawih prayer is only available during the month of Ramadan, while the Tahajud prayer is every night, throughout the year. Only thing we need to pay attention to when we want to do tarawih prayers and tahajjud prayers. If we perform the tarawih prayer and continue with the witr prayer, then when we do the tahajjud prayer, we no longer need to do the witr prayer. If when we perform the tarawih prayer without closing it with the witr prayer, then when we perform the tahajjud prayer it is necessary to close it with the witr prayer. The Prophet emphasized that there are no two witrs in one night.
3. Increase Infaq and Alms
We need to take advantage of the moment in the month of Ramadan to increase infaq and alms, not zakat. Because, zakat related to Ramadan is only zakat fitrah. Zakat must be given in the month of Ramadan, especially towards the end of Ramadan until the Eid prayer.
Prophet Muhammad SAW was a very generous and gentle person. He increased his generosity during the month of Ramadan. For example, giving infaq by facilitating the opening of people who are fasting. We need to follow the example of Prophet Muhammad SAW. Infak what we have even a little. The most important thing is that we multiply infaq and alms during the month of Ramadan. This is an extraordinary moment for us to train ourselves to always be fond of giving and giving alms and making it a part of our daily lifestyle after Ramadan.
