UMY Library won 3rd Place in the 2023 Best Practice Competition organized by the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia. The winners were announced at the Royal Kuningan Hotel, Jakarta on Friday (15/9/2023). The innovation that was successfully promoted by the UMY Library was entitled "Recovery of the Community's Economy after the Covid-19 Pandemic through Community Service Based on the Digital Library for Society Mbaca Application".
Through this innovation based on social inclusion, the UMY Library Team is trying to help restore the socio-economic conditions of communities affected by the Covid-19 pandemic through literacy services based on the Digital Library for Society Mbaca application in Sarwodadi Village, Banjarnegara. The Mbaca (Muhammadiyah Reading) application is one of the library's innovations in providing its role to the community to support the community's economic recovery. The Mbaca application is a website that contains digital collections that can be accessed by the general public.
Apart from providing e-resources through Mbaca, this activity also helps provide entrepreneurship training and assistance to MSME businesses in Sarwodadi Village, as well as assistance in digital-based marketing of Sarwodadi Village products.
It is hoped that this community service activity can have a long-term, sustainable impact in restoring the economy and improving the quality of life of the community, as well as creating better opportunities for the future of the surrounding community.
