Surely your library friends are already familiar with the word "paraphrase", right? Yup!

Paraphrase is a term that comes from Latin "paraphrase" or Greek (Paraphrasein), with the same meaning, namely "Additional Way of Expression". According to the Big Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI), paraphrase or paraphrase is the re-phrasing of a speech from one level or various languages into another speech without changing the original meaning.

Paraphrasing is considered important in academic and research writing, because it can help avoid plagiarism and produce more original and varied writing. Paraphrasing also helps in understanding and summarizing complex texts.

However, students often find it difficult to paraphrase. Difficulties often experienced by students such as difficulty finding synonyms, confusion in processing sentences correctly, or fear that the meaning of the sentence is too far away.

With increasingly developing technological advances, there are now various AI (Artificial Intelligence) that can help library friends paraphrase easily and quickly. There are various AI tools that can help library friends paraphrase, including:

1. Quillbot
   QuillBot (https://quillbot.com) is an AI-powered paraphrasing and writing tool that uses Natural Language Processing (NLP) technology. This tool functions to rewrite, edit and change sentences in text narratives in Indonesian and English. Library friends can paraphrase automatically online and can provide other alternative words, so you can edit sentences as you wish. Quillbot provides free and paid (Premium) access. Now the UMY Library has provided a Quillbot Premium account which can be used by the entire UMY academic community for free.    This paraphrasing tool (https://www.paraphraser.io) is also based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) which was developed using the latest technology. Paraphraser.io uses the latest AI algorithms to restructure content in a way that feels natural to humans. Library friends can also use this tool for free and easy to use. When using this tool, library friends can directly type sentences in the box provided or upload files in PDF or DOCX form.
    
3. Zero GPT
   Apart from being able to accurately detect AI-generated text/writing, Zero GPT (www.zerogpt.com/paraphraser) can also help paraphrase any text instantly with high accuracy and while maintaining the original meaning. Library friends can also choose the tone of the paraphrase results, such as formal, informal, academic, fluent, teenager, etc.
    
4. Typeset.io
   There are many features provided by this tool. Typeset.io (https://typeset.io/paraphraser) provides sentence selection, length of paraphrased sentences, variations in word usage, and language settings. Apart from that, library friends can upload documents or copy sentences as usual as paraphrase input.

However, please remember that the AI technology above is only a tool for paraphrasing with all its limitations. Therefore, library friends should still need to review the paraphrasing results because in reality the person who is truly capable of constructing a deeper context and meaning is ourselves.
