SLiMS Library Automation Training

Yogyakarta, February 5, 2023 - The Library of Muhammadiyah University Yogyakarta witnessed the successful execution of a library automation training using the SLiMS (Senayan Library Management Systems) application on Monday, February 5, 2023. The event was efficiently organized and led by the librarian of UMY Library, Eko Kurniawan, M.A., with assistance from other librarians, including Bima Ridho Pratama, S.IP.

During the training, Eko Kurniawan, M.A., delivered in-depth materials regarding the use of the SLiMS application for library automation. He explained practical steps in managing the library system using the application, covering collection management to book borrowing services. Participants gained profound insights into the efficiency and effectiveness achievable through the implementation of library automation.

Bima Ridho Pratama, a librarian who actively assisted in the training, provided valuable contributions by offering direct guidance to participants facing challenges in operating the application. Bima Ridho Pratama's presence added positive value to the success of the training, ensuring that each participant could master the use of SLiMS optimally.

Participants in the training came from 9 schools ranging from elementary to high school levels affiliated with Muhammadiyah in the Yogyakarta Special Region, totaling 17 participants with diverse backgrounds. This reflects enthusiasm and awareness of the importance of modern library management among Muhammadiyah educational institutions.

In the Q&A session, participants actively engaged with the presenters, obtaining solutions to their queries and sharing experiences related to the implementation of library automation. The event unfolded with enthusiasm, creating a positive and collaborative learning atmosphere.

The library automation training is expected to enhance the quality of library services in Muhammadiyah schools, optimize the use of technology for collection management, and create a better learning experience for students. The Library of Muhammadiyah University Yogyakarta remains committed to supporting the capacity building of libraries within Muhammadiyah educational institutions.
